Cricket: South Africa vs Pakistan Match Prediction, Preview and Betting Tips

Host, Stadium, Time: Match would be played at ST. George’s Park, Port Elizabeth on 19/1/19 at 11:00 GMT

South Africa after sweeping the test series 3-0 against Pakistan, would demonstrate the same ruthless instinct that have ensured 7 straight wins at home. They are ranked 4th in ODI rankings a notch above Pakistan, who are placed at 5th position. Coach Micky Arthur’s side on the other hand would play with both ferocity and talent. Fixture is likely to be an entertainment feast for fans of the game.

South Africa, ably led by Faf Du Plesis would rely on the batting exploits of Quinton de Kock. He is the second player to score four consecutive centuries in ODI’s. The team would have the skills of veteran Hashim Amla,(4th cricketer to score 25 centuries in Test cricket and ODI) at their disposal.

Their bowling department led by Dale Steyn would stick to the saying “pace is pace bru”. He is one in a generation athlete and the “fire in his eyes” has not dimmed an iota. Further three of their four bowlers have consistently bowled at pace at least 10 Km more than their rivals.
On the field they would continue to maintain their reputation of an excellent side that errs rarely.

Pakistan would rely on the batting talent of Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman. The former dispatched Steyn for 21 boundaries in the series. In his maiden series against West Indies, Azam scored three consecutive centuries and became the fastest batsman to score 1,000 runs in ODI. His record was broken by fellow talented team mate Zaman, incidentally the first Pakistani to score a double century in ODI.

Bowling department would be headed by Mohd. Amir, who was recalled to the side on the basis of his impressive current form. In the fielding department the squad has been generally weak although much better than earlier versions.
